Meet Dr. Anne Taylor

Dr. Anne Taylor is a board-certified psychiatrist who has been working in the Triangle area since 2016.  She completed her undergraduate education at Yale University and her medical degree at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Medicine.  Her psychiatry residency and chief residency at the University of Pennsylvania provided a broad background in the management of psychiatric conditions in all stages of recovery.  She received specialized training in the treatment of anxiety, trauma, psychosis and mood disorders as well as training in multiple psychotherapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.  After her training, Dr. Taylor served on the Department of Psychiatry faculty at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill for five years, teaching medical students and residents.

Taylor Psychiatry, PLLC is a general adult psychiatry practice located in Raleigh, NC.  Accepting clients ages 18-65 for psychiatric consultation and evaluation, individual psychotherapy, and/or psychopharmacology. 

 

Dr. Taylor is experienced in helping individuals with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, burnout, loneliness, relationship difficulties, anger, shame, and coping with chronic illness.

Psychiatric Evaluation

Initial evaluations last 90 minutes and are focused on establishing a diagnosis and treatment plan.

Individual psychotherapy sessions last 50 minutes.  Possible treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Psychopharmacology

Sometimes medications are recommended in addition to therapy and other modalities.  Typically, follow up medication management appointments are of 25 minutes duration.
